Default Best way to hook up aftermarket oil pressure gauge

Looking to see how others have hooked up the sending units for an electric aftermarket oil pressure gauge. I want to keep the original sender so the original gauge still will work. I saw this on ebay and wondered if anyone else has used this method. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

Really doubtful the item you linked to would fit between our block and oil filter.

Here is a pic of what I have done to my car and many others too. I modify the stock sender and remote mount the sensors. The other pic is of my gauge panel that I just removed and will be selliing. I also modify the drain plug for temp. Hope this helps. You can email me and I can help anyone do this project

dlgranison, very good idea. Did you make the block for the sensors, or you found it somewhere?

The block is something I made. I do a bit of machining at work so it was easy. It is also rubber mounted to extend the life of the sensors. Autometer sensors do not like vibration

I like the idea and think it might fit. clean solution.
Let us know how it goes.

Granison - VERY pretty.
Looks like something you might see on an IMSA car, or something like that.

dlgranison, if you are selling the block, I'll be interested in getting one. Please email me directly.

Dl,
I like your idea. How did you run the braided line to the block? Where did you find the adapter to go into the fitting where the original gauge was located if that is where you tapped from?. I believe this is a M18 x 1.5 thread on my car but yours looks much smaller. I can make a block if I can find a tap this size but it is doubtful.

That adapter on ebay is similar to what i use, i use a Greddy adapter (thnak you chris) and hooked up both oil pressure and temp sensors there.

Don't do anything with the oil drian plug, it has a magnetic tip which helps out tremendously:

YIKES! That's scary...looks like one of the bolts on the plastic windage tray. Right now I'm only looking for a pressure connection so the drain plug is not an option. I always inspect my plug for bits and pieces as well.

Yes Musche, that's the one, except i got it for around $47 from the Greddy dealer locally.

The oil filter does sit higher however, but just slightly higher. It makes changing the oil filter easier as well (it is not so deep in there).
