Angry Sabotaged 944- Poisoned by sugar !

My fathers mint 1987 N/A 944 has been poisoned with sugar. It was dumped directly into the oil filler tube. He was unaware and drove the car very shortly and parked again. When he tried starting it, it felt like the starter had failed. So we replaced the starter and still the motor would not turn over. We also tried push starting it with no success. After the vehicle was towed into our shop and examined we found sugar residue in the oil filler. We even tried turning it by hand from the crankshaft. Very Very sad. My old mans head was about to pop off from his anger. The car is sweet (except the absence of a turbo ) .

He wants to sell the car as is. I dont know why ??? I told him to throw in a good replacement motor but he is being very stubborn about the whole thing. The car has 117k. He has driven it less than 10K miles in the 7+ years he has owned it. When he did buy it from the original owner, he replaced the belts, water pump, clutch, guides, pro paint job, cup 2 wheels, awesome sound system, overall a very nice N/A 944.

I just wanted to share the story and maybe get some suggestions or an offer for it.

Was the car left unattended for a long period? Whoever did such thing had to have a key to access to the hood release right?

The culpirt to this tragedy had access to the car. It was at home parked on the driveway. Lets just say it was someone close to the family with a grudge.

Or it was left unlocked. They must have been familiar with these cars or had time to look for the release. The location is not so intuitive.

Do you know who and can prove it?

Sounds like some police or legal involvement is needed. Or a baseball bat to THEIR car.

car needing a new motor is nearly worthless. you'll be lucky to get above 1000 bucks.

i think he'll get a bit above 1k, it looks like a really nice car. whoever did it needs to get beaten down on the serious. i offer my giant mexican services. the only reason the guy that crashed into my n/a is alive right now is cuz the police was there. either way. beatdowns for money to replace the motor. tell ur dad that if he replaces that motor, or gets it rebuilt, it's worth a hell of a lot more.

Do you mean real sugar(sweetner) in the car or is that a term used for something else (dirt/foriegn objects)?

That is a very nice na. I am sure there are plenty of Rennlisters who would jump to own it seeing how all it needs is a new engine...and even after that they will have a more than salvageable engine to rebuild with minimal effort.
