Some time ago I dynoed a car on the same day , approx same temp , same county and in the order first Dynojet , second Mustang and last I used the MAHA, all done by reputable shops with experienced operators.
The results had a spread of almost a 100 whp , yeah that's right,a 100 whp difference on the dyno sheets and from then on I judged, what some here call " a proven properly calibrated scientific instrument far ahead of NASA and the 21st century" chassis dynos as a comedy act.

Frankly I couldn't care less about what he runs. Why what he does with his car is so important to you forces me to wonder if your issue is jealousy, or personal failure?

ehall,
I agree that if I ever would find myself to be jealous of Special Tool, I would consider that to be a huge failure as a human being.
Forgive me if I just want to keep it real so that impressionable 951 enthusiats don't buy into some of the BS that gets posted. I hardly think that's being a condescending troll.
If anything I should question your assessment capabilities and issues you might have.

Well...
I've read every page, whew...some fast numbers!!!
I thought for ****s and giggles I'd run my 92 toyota.
0-60...12.3 seconds
20-60...9.3 seconds
Haven't tried 20-80 or anything yet...
pretty fast, ehh?

You know, Turbo Tommy and Tool. You two should be the poster boys for this whole forum. You guys disagreed. Poked a bit at each other. Held your cool. Ending with mutual disagreement AND respect. My hats off to you both. I get my car back tomorrow, I'll let you guys know what my time is.

But those who actually have done these tests will testify that bringing the timing to absolute optimal will not even remotely yield "magical" power outputs if the timing was already basically in the ballpark before.
Also, you could even argue that the ignition advance which is optimal for the dyno probably wouldn't be when it's on the street.
