Some time ago I dynoed a car on the same day , approx same temp , same county and in the order first Dynojet , second Mustang and last I used the MAHA, all done by reputable shops with experienced operators.
The results had a spread of almost a 100 whp , yeah that's right,a 100 whp difference on the dyno sheets and from then on I judged,what some here call " a proven properly calibrated scientific instrument far ahead of NASA and the 21st century" chassis dynos as a comedy act.

So upping boost from 18 to 24 psi gives no power...damn.... VE is about how much you cram in the cylinder each time,and keep there. Increase boost,and the VE will increase. Now,if we're talking of if this is an effective way of increasing VE...I don't think so. It's always better to make a very efficient engine (high NA VE engine) and then boost it than "just cranking up the boost". By the way,if Tool's turbo has a decent efficiency (and I guess it has) Mr. Lutjens won't need much more than about a 109% VE naturally aspirated ( ending at 248-ish VE under boost) to make his power.

I've seen a 5-degree jump in ignition yield 60 hp...ok,maybe it wasn't in the ballpark,but,it did give a gain. And a solid one at that. Agreed...if we're thinking peace of mind,I'd back off a degree or two.
