Manufacturers use engine dynos, not chassis dynos, and engine dynos are accurate.

You got it right, Jimbo.
Some guys just don't like what the dyno tells them.
Obviously, these people are an overwhelming minority.
There are accepted chassis dyno results for all new cars if you look - just look for your example, the ZO6 already dynoing in the 430-450 RWHP range.

I still think that to question a dyno is a little crazy, maybe Thomas and Tommy are backwoods hillbillys who don't use electricity and think moden technology is
"the devil"
Or maybe Amish - you never know.

Anyway, I promised Duke that I would concede to the 60-100 test. I am planning to do and vid that this week. I will put the boost guage and the 4 channel egt guage in the frame with the speedo - I'm sure it will be a hit. This will be done with a much more aggressive cam and some valvetrain work that is new since the 533 run.....
I like to keep an open mind to ALL sorts of testing and I accept the validity of the mid-range accel test.

Well I have run my bike on 3 different types of Dynos an the Dynojet runs are the best(highest numbers) Mustang was 3 hp down an land an sea was 6.5 hp down but the all have the same curve. Also this was done over a 6 month period with the same mods an all numbers are corrected to SAE

eospeed - I would be VERY interested in comparing notes with you regarding your land/sea dynos.

It's always a pleasure to argue with you ST, as soon as you run out of arguments one gets to hear new and innovative insults each time...

I think we have to start a new racing form, dyno sheet GP. I wonder if we can get one of the big organisations to support it, FIA, NHRA?

I think you promised a 100-200 (62-124) test IIRC. At least would that test be more useful since that is what most people here have run and the longer test gives less error. Also the whole point of this test is to have a somewhat accurate way of measuring speed, if I would have used my speedo I would have got 1-2 seconds better time (or is it more correct since it would have given me a better result?).

Skunk,
Tool's "homebrew" only allows him to run higher boost without detonation.
It, by itself, will do absolutely nothing for additional power; and certainly has nothing to do with VE.
There is a possibility of higher flame speeds with the right mix of fuels. This could cause a slight increase in THERMAL EFFICIENCY, but only to the tune of max 1%.

Optimizing ignition advance for a given boost and fuel is one of the things that chassis dynos are great for.
But those who actually have done these tests will testify that bringing the timing to absolute optimal will not even remotely yield "magical" power outputs if the timing was already basically in the ballpark before. Also, you could even argue that the ignition advance which is optimal for the dyno probably wouldn't be when it's on the street.

Thomas - you should know that I am only joking around by now...
Thank you for saying that my insults are "innovative" - I appreciate the compliment.

I will have my 60 - 100 by the end of the week on film.

ST, make sure that it is clear that you are driving on the road and not a dyno.

...and I will be sure to leave the windows open so you can hear wheelspin up to 100MPH (NOT KPH) - just in case anyone thought I was kidding about that with 275 MPS's and 60% LSD......

jim can you do like a 50-120 or 130 run?

I only ask because seeing you at WOT through two full upper gears would give me a real good idea of what my car might be like with 100 more hp. Plus it would be really ****ing cool. I have never seen your car or much less a video of it.

I would love to see a video taped high speed run of your beast man. Hp is the only thing that matters above 100mph and up there traction is good so you can really let it rip. It really gives a good idea of just how stupid fast a car is or isint.

Anyways just pm me or something. I am dying for some video.
