Factory Chip Numbers?
I would like to replace the factory chips to try to eliminate a black smoke problem on hard acceleration in my 1986 951. They were replaced prior to my purchasing the car (last December) with Aurtothority chips and the original chips were not marked for which box they came from.
The part numbers are 1267355131 and 1267355183. Does anyone know which chip goes in the DME unit and which chip goes in the KLR unit. In 1986, they were both 24-pin chips.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks. Anything that you find out would be helpful.
My searches have turned up differnet numbers for a 1986. They are 1267355138 for the KLR and 1267355235 for the DME.

My 86 chips are
DME: 1Z67355183
KLR: 1Z67355131
The second digit on my chips could be mistaken for a 2 or 7, but on close inspection, it seems clearly to be a Z, for what it's worth...

Thanks Tom & Jason. Like I said, all of the previous posts that I found had the 235 & 183 numbers. I am glad that I found someone with the same chips that I have (I wonder what the difference is?).
I've had an '88 911 for 6 years but this is our first try at a 951. I like them both equally but for different reasons. Ours looks exactly like Jason's with the white wheels.
