Doh!! Ok, well that may explain part of the problem then. Maybe I should get an accuboost and throw it in and see what happens... Or just jump to an EBC. I've got my eye on several eBay auctions right now...

I've posted links to this before, this is the infamous 'Autospeed Boost Machine' which is supposed to be the top-dog of MBCs...

Doc,

I've got the Reliaboost off of my car (along with the intake, cam assembly, head, headers...lol), we can throw it in there and see what you get...

Doc, your testing method does not mean that theres no leaks.
You're over looking leaks at the exhaust manifold, wastegate,
crossover pipe flages etc. Any leaks around the above will
cause the turbo to reach full boost late.

yeah the black **** valve style MBC is only for dual port wastegates. It restricts flow above a certain pressure, so wouldn't be having any effect at all leaving you running boost control off the wastegate spring. For the single port wg you want the ball and spring type (Reliaboost, accuboost, LBE etc) which sends no signal to the wastegate until the preset pressure is obtained.
pressure opens a single port, pressure difference b/w top and side port opens the dual.

Actually the ball & spring type will still leak air before preset boost Hally.
The only type that can really control boost signal is a soleniod.
