IIRC you need to retorque for Raceware, but not for stock. I did not retorque mine as they are stock. Did you rest between each step of the original torquing? If not, I would definitely retorque. HTH.

The therory is that the stock head gasket will compress or "settle" a minute amount during the first heat cycle. When torqued, the OEM studs stretch and compensate for this "settle" whereas the Raceware don't stretch and need to be retorqued.

Raceware says to retorque after the first heat cylce when using their studs with stock or WF gaskets. (Not needed for stock studs.) I've done it three times. The first two times, it was a waste of time because the nuts were still torqued to spec. The third time, the nuts were a bit under-torqued after the first heat cycle.

I would still retorque again. I think it would be left up to the individual but most times, not all, that people replace head studs the engines are out of the car. It would be a shame after all the hard work to let a retorque ruin any of that.

When there is a next time i will not do a re-torque with raceware studs!
All studs were fine after heat cycle. I torqued them to 75 ft-lbs on first cycle.
Raceware does recmmend a re-torque.

What spec would you be measuring against? Porsche says to throw them away...

i pulled my head, installed the head and torqued, installed the headers, broke a stud, pulled the head before running it, replace ALL exhaust studs, installed the head and torqued, then ran it, all on stock studs. They seem fine. I also went over torque by a few degrees of a turn, becuase thats how i am, and i don't mind having the head sit a tiny bit lower, haha.
