I have been debating Tial vs. LR for a while. I am not ready to start cutting on things that I can't fix so I will be going with the LR DP. I work kind of slow and just wish that they didn't have that $300 core charge!

Your 89 will be a Tial direct bolt on with adapters, no cutting.

You did not have to order the dP from Lindsey as you can change the banjo bolt on top of the WG for a smaller one that allows the WG to clear the torque tube. No fabrication required. PM SamGrant951 as he did this. I would return the Lindsey unit and keep the Tial.

I've also been told that the adapter plates can be somewhat problematic. If it they are not a problem are there any performance differences?

The Tial is a completely different design than the stock/lindsey unit. There is much gain to be had.

Can you provide me any examples of the gains? I've searched this forum extensively on this subject. There are Tial die hards and also many that are extremely pleased with the Lindsey unit.

My plans are to go with a MBC and Vitesse chips. Down the road I will probably add a 3" exhaust and 55# injectors. Driveability is a key concern for me as my wife also drives the car and it is our weekend get away machine.

(sorry if I'm hijacking this thread)

By all means, valid question would also like to see some stats vs Tial & Lindsey unit, seems like there are many cars producing big HP #s with both products.

Oh crap....I have an 86 951 and I am planning to do the 38mmTial install tomorrow night. Are you guys saying that I will for sure have a problem fitting the Tial in....and basically have to cut and weld or shave doww the tube...etc. etc????

Please tell me there is an easier way. I searched this forum for a long time looking at what wastegate to get and this is the first I ever heard that there could possibly be a problem fitting the tial in.....and why would it be different for an 86??

Default What about the Lindsey Racing Waste Gate?

Lindsey Racing makes a dual port waste gate. That is a direct bolt in replacement that Dave says will hold the boost. Have any of you had a bad experience with this model?

Please advise.

Only problems I have heard are the bolts can back out, but I have used adapters ( bought from Huntley) and a Tial for nearly 4 years now with no problems.
