See post #14 in this thread . I ran it in my white car, but still have not installed it in my current one.

Yeah after I posted I did a search in this forum for "walbro pump" and got a bunch of hits.

I hadn't thought of trying an external pump, I figured we could probably swap in an internal pump without much trouble. The pumps have similar dimensions to each other, I'm sure we could get it to work with a little creativity.

Maybe its time for a Walbro 951-kit group buy? We'd need someone to work out the details with APE and organize it all. I'd volunteer, but I'm about to do a career change and 2500 mile move in the next few weeks, including transporting my engineless 951. If we don't have enough interest to get it going now, I'll probably start the wheels turning on one in September.

I'm typing up a quick email to APE right now to get their input on our application. I'll be happy to pass the torch to someone else if they're interested in getting something organized.

The Walbro has a distinct LOUD humming sound.

I've used them (walbro hp/hf) for 10s of thousands of miles on other cars without any problems or obnoxious noises. Yes, you can hear the pump prime with the engine off (if the engine management primes the pump before starting) but you couldn't hear them at idle at all. Not a problem in my book.

Anyone interested? I did email APE, no response yet.
