Tuning question
My Vitesse stage 2 kit makes nice power at 15psi and ~12:1 a/f ratio. As long as I keep the a/f ratios around this level under boost, I'm pretty safe. Now what if I want to run more boost? I know; "add race fuel". But is there anyway to monitor if I'm making more power safely? (Like I would with checking a/f ratios).
Do I monotor knock? EGT? What am I looking for?

Do a quick search for Link Knock Block. I did a wee write up on it with some pics. Also, on pump gas I can run 20psi with around 19 degrees of advance and 11:8-12.0:1 AF and zero det. EGT is another good check, I am putting 4 in when I get my new headers (a couple of months away). Its a bit more expensive to measure EGT though...

If you put in race fuel and crank up the boost, your AF is going to stay dead on the money (exactly what it is at 15psi) thanks to your Vitesse software/MAF. The thing you need to be on the lookout for is EGT.
Call zeitronix and order the EGT probe for your zt2. It will come with a bung that you need to have welded in the 4th exhaust runner.

Eivind, Before turning up the boost, set the FQS to position 4-7 to pull some timing out. EGTs and AFR are good indicators, however knock is the thing to look for... Thomas is getting great EGTs, I expect the same from your setup...
The software you have on the chip uses a fairly aggressive timing. The new software that we now deliver on a board provides 2 maps (pump gas timing and aggressive timing). So make sure, when people advise you, to know which software they are using...
Again.. here I go again: I only recommend 15psi MAX on pump gas.. (But nobody listens ).
