Right back at ya' (baaaah).

Anyways, I guess I'll need an EGT sensor to go with my ZT-2.

I still haven't installed the TIAL so I'm having trouble controlling boost properly. One moment, all I get is 9psi, then the next I have 19psi. 19psi is crazy. Spinning all the way through 2nd gear to 70mph is cool (as is watching the two parallel black stripes on the asphalt in my rear view mirror).

At 17psi I`m getting about 840 degrees Celsius peak. this is pretty good! You can go all way up to 950(980peak) celsius before anything is crucial! BUT, this isnt the only way to check that you`ve knock! Be aware of that. A knock sensor is also a must when turning up boost.
(john close your eyes. and I wouldnt do it unless I know I`m going for a engine swap this winter) testing at 20psi I get 920/940 peak celsius witch is outstanding with the FQS at 0 and pump fuel!

Thomas, 20psi on pump gas is NOT healthy!!! At least use FQS #4... even then, keep it down!
The turbo you have is very efficient... Take a temp reading on both sides of the intercooler, and you will be amazed.

Does anyone know how Scandinavian (European?) 98 RON pump fuel compares to US pump fuel?

Thomas,
Take off 5 points from the RON to get US pump fuel, 98 RON is equivilent to 93 US, we get 98 RON here as well IIRC.

That depends on the setup though...seen 33 psi on pump in our Mitsu without knock on 98 RON pump... with the right setup we will see 28 in a 951 this winter. Only thing then is to see what breaks mechanically...if it does.

33 and pump even on a 4g63 is pushing it.

What would that setup be on a 951? I'm all ears...

I didn't say we weren't pushing it...but we did not have any knock before just over 33 psi...so obviously the logical thing was to run 32 all the time. Wouldn't you?

I know that you are either all ears or more likely doubting it,John...no wonder you are. But,it's in the making,we found a way to do it and as I'm selling it as a kit after the development is done,(that is...if it doesn't crack the bores or anything like that) I'm not too keen on giving anything away. Neither would you.

Edit: By the way...it's NOT a stock setup...but I guess you got that. No way in hell would I try doing that.

I don't expect anything for free, and yes I was doubting it.. Now that you say it's not a stock setup, then it's a different matter all together.

On a 951 with the 8V stock head, no water injection, stock pistons, on pump gas you will not be able to run the high boost you suggested (28psi)... Well, not safely and not for long. But if you do, I'll raise my hat!!

Yes something like that, I've seen the figure 94 PON (US rating) stated as equivalent to 98 RON.
My question was really, what octane numbers are readily available in US gas stations and what octane are US produced chips tuned for?
