Thumbs up

I ended up using Michelle's method because it sounded the simplest and it went together pretty easily

I believe you would only build boost to the spring level (IIRC standard is 0.8 bar) so you'd get only 0.8 bar of boost before dumping the rest down the tailpipe. You could run a stronger spring (I think I'll get a 1-bar spring when the time comes for failsafe mode).

This is an upcoming upgrade of mine as well - got any pics of that "trimmed" dump pipe? I'd love to see it. I may do that to mine before even starting the install just to prevent the kind of headaches everyone else seems to have with this.

If you're forcing it, it's wrong. Period.

ok. Sounds like it.

I was pretty sure the diaphragm is fine as it is brand new.

OK now I'm lost - by "backwards" you mean that the valve opens outward into the dump pipe or you mean the opposite?

I thought on the tial gates the valve opened down into the dump pipe to prevent boost from "forcing" it open if it exceeds spring pressure (well, actually spring + signal)

Tials open inwardly – the valve retracts into the body. The face of the vale should be the pressure side – other wise the pressure will overwhelm the spring and hold the valve closed….a bad thing.

Wow, Deja vu – I just read the whole thread and noticed that I answered this question twice – back in August and again today…

Kevin, where did you get the bolts drilled for safety wire? Or did you drill them yourself?

Well, I jsut reversed mine and have a air leak noise about 8-9 psi and that is all the boost it will build.

Just not in tight enough? Although could get it any tighter, or is there some other issue?

AND, when I looked at it the face of the valve was facing the pressure side, yet it was overboosting...

HELP!!!!

Maybe 3 times will be the charm of if we could get everyone to agree on one way to install it as this thread has several ways all different.
