Default Single wiper kit

Does anyone sell these for a 944 so I can just use the center wiper? I had a single wiper conversion on an E30, and also my old MBZ had it stock. Just wondering since it looks fairly simply to convert yet I have not seen anyone selling a kit or it even being mentioned.

I would think it could be done by cutting and re welding the linkage to do a longer sweep (using only the middle wiper of course).

I just run no wipers!

I still havent found any suppliers for this. I wonder why there are so many for BMW's and other cars but not these. I am going to dig into my car tomorrow and see if this is something I can fabricate.
I'd prefer to have a single wper pointed straight up in the middle. Keeps it from moving up at high speeds and gives a little better view down the hood.

Hmm, never thought about this for the 944 series. Would have to see it on a car before I would get it.

Well you could have the single center wiper sit in the same position so it would look the same minus the left wiper. I would adjust mine straight up if I am going to be doing some high speeds.

I'll post some pics if I actually do this.

I looked into this a while ago, I really want to go single, I came up with nothing but a VERY expensive Merc kit that MAY have fit.

I'm guessing no one supplies one for our cars because the Porsche crowd isn't that big on ricing their cars out. We usually focus on real performance instead of the "wow that looks fast" effect.

i have seen it done on an estonian 968. It was a modifed original system and according to the owner of that car a fairly simple task to do

Then how come there are so many kits for BMW's?

It's not "ricing". I stated valid reasons I want to do this, none of it is for looks. I have the idea becasue my MBZ had a single wiper. Then I got a kit for my E30 and loved it. If you leave the single wiper in the stock stop position it looks no different unless it's running. So I'd hardly call it rice.

I am going to see what I can do with it tomorrow. I imagine I can just fab. a longer arm. That is all my E30 kit was.

have you ever picked up just one wiper arm?, jeesh that's gotta save me a good 30lbs. hahaha

I want it because I would have it's stop point it straight up in the middle. This way I would have a better view right in front of the bumper and also I won't be annoyed by the wipers moving up at high speeds....plus it's cheaper to just have to buy one wiper hehehe

I would prolly have its stop point in the stock position on the street however, but still one full sweep wiper.

My vote goes to the MBZ wiper. I just love it.
It's an engineering marvel.
