Default torque

What is the proper torque value for the bolts that hold the axles in place? Is it different on the tanny side and the hub side? I bought new ones and am putting them in tomorrow.
Thanks

If you are talking the CV axle bolts then 31 ft/lbs.

I torqued mine to the specified 31 Ft-lbs., after a short time they worked themselves loose. It's a good thing I did some exhaust work or I wouldn't have noticed this until it was too late. So when I tightened them up this time I torqued them as tight as I felt comfortable without stressing the bolts too much. About 55 ft-lbs., they are staying in place now.

Stephen,
Mine came loose as well, the driver's side CV found it's way out and.....well i had no movement for a while.

You need to make sure that the threads are clean and free of any grease, mine are still tight even after 4 months. You can also use a thread locker, to keep them from coming out.
