Default Exhaust gas temp probe question

I have a Zeitronix Wideband O2 setup, and am planning on installing the EGT probe soon. I have a set of ceramic coated headers that I will be putting on the 951 and am thinking that I will weld a bung on the runner for #4 cylinder, but figured I would ask and see if anyone has any recommendations before I proceed.

Does anyone think it should be mounted to measure the temp of a different cylinder or have any tips or suggestions?

Regards,

airplanes, fuel injected and carbureted, that have them, have them on all cylinders.

one cylinder doesn't tell enuff of the story.

Mine is on #3 and it drives me nuts. When I am accelerating hard it spikes to as high as 1200°C for one sample when I lift to shift. Otherwise it never sees over 900°C as rich as 9 and as lean as 17 on A/F.

You can get a guage and 4 probes system that will cycle though automatically or stay on the hottest one (selectable) for $450.
