Default Help - Door won't open

I had my car loaded on the trailer for a track trip, and went to put the helmet bag on the passenger seat. I opened the door, then it wouldn't latch shut, no click, nothing. The exterior pull on the handle was stuck open. I pulled off he interior panel, couldn't see anything obvious, and used a screw driver to eventually push the latch to a position so the door held closed, but would not reopen.

I was able to go to the DE like this, but now still cannot open the door. The manual shows that to disassemble the lock, you need access to the end of the door while it's open. The interior latch handle is still connected, and I can see it move something at the mechanism, but the door won't open. I've sprayed WD-40 over everything, but no improvement.

Has this happened to anyone else? Anybody know a fix?

I had this happen but the it was linkage on the outer handle that broke so I had to replace the entire handle. The metal parts are cast and fairly weak.

The plastic linkage rod referred to in the link as the likely culprit is not broken. I cannot operate the locks either electrically or mechanically using the stem that sticks out of the inside door top.

Can the mechanism be disassembled with the door closed?
