Dyno results
Well, went to the dyno with special tool and TurboX today. I made 371.2 at 5350 rpms on the mustang dyno. (369 ft/lbs TQ at about 5000) This was at 23.5 PSI on a race fuel mixture. I had major misfire issues that you can see by the graph, and couldn't make anything happen much over 5500rpms. We think this is a combination of things, and are working to resolve this. My max power should have been 1k RPMs higher (if I was able to keep spark through the rev range. . .) There is at least 25-30hp to free up by resolving these issues.
I also did a run at 14.5 psi, just to get a comparison. I made 317.5 hp at 6150rpms and 309 ft/lb TQ at around 4700. (notice the misfire is not as severe under lower boost)
Here are the pics of the sheets, I will try to get some better ones later if anyone cares (they didn't come out so clear). I also have some videos if anyone wants to edit/host one.
This was done on the OLD vitesse stage 2 kit. I am currently in the process of pulling this turbo out to swap something brand new. John has made so many more mods as far as reliability and performance go on the new kits. The new turbos are capable of about 60 more HP and a few hundred RPM quicker spool up. I am however confident that 400rwhp (on the mustang) would have been capable if we had our issues worked out. On the dynojet, maybe 420. With the new stage 2, I can't even begin to imagine the kind of numbers we are going to put down. I am very excited!!
PS- For each run the ONLY change was done with the MBC. The A/F stayed dead straight from a run of 9 psi to the run of 23.5. The ONLY thing I touched was the boost controller. It is AMAZING how well calibrated the MAF is.

I forgot to add that this was with the stock exhaust (cat replaced with 2" pipe, yes 2" pipe ) and a billet diverter valve that leaked a bit under boost.

Ted, Good numbers, however few things to check:
- DOUBLE check the WG and the BOV - Upgrade the WG spring to 1 bar. (You have the 0.8bar spring there, don't you).
- Use 1 heat range colder plug - WR6DC
- Use a new coil (or just wait for the WS).
- RACE GAS ONLY.. Mixture for the street is fine.. But when loading the car and over 20psi useRACE GAS ONLY. .
- Get a test-pipe.
The new software you received compensates for actual air flow. No need to keep retuning. a True PLUG-AND-PLAY.. How's the idle with the 72#???

The BOV is leaking, no doubt about it. Tial is 0.8, yes. I made a big mistake with the plugs, you can actually see ST choking me in one of the videos. Full 3" turbo-back exhaust will be going in with the new turbo.

Hope we get every thing worked out. It will be nice to have the car running "good" even though it is fast as hell the way it is! (you have 4 sheared bolts to remind you of this

Ted, Nice #'s ! It's good to see what my car should be capable of with the new
Stage 2 kit I have.
I'm starting to think my 55# injectors are to small for the power these turbo's will put out.

tconn,
Yes fuel pump. A guy at the fest with a stage III kit was having some issues on the dyno. He called John (which i promtly told him john was on vacation), john called him back and said it had something to do with the fuel pump. I can't remember off had who the guy was or what exactly was wrong but it was the fuel pump.
BTW John, I have the dyno run on video if you would like it.

The torque curve looks a little wierd - very late peak and not much down at lower rpm, I would be looking for some 'tuning' to fix that.
