You dont need spacers. What about the front doesnt fit? The only issue will be the center cap.
I would love to know where people keep turning up the 9" rears as I cannot find anyplace where they were even an option.

When we put 951/220 front suspnsion and brakes on my 944S track car recently we had the same problem when I came to fit the track wheels as above.
The answer was 7mm spacers at the front and using a bench grinder on the dust caps to reduce the diameter a bit and chamfer them. Worked a treat.
Had to remove the 7mm rear spacers as the (drivers side in USA) would catch on the atches, which arn't rolled on the S.

I had the same problems up front. The rims would not clear the dust cap.
Go to your local pep boys or Advanced auto, ask for a set of 5/16" Mr. Gasket wheel spacers (Right around $20). This will make your rims clear and fit. However, the porsche cap will not snap in all the way. Mine have been like this for a good 3000miles and have not come out yet.
Where did you get 9" rear rims?! I've only ever seen 8.5"s
EDIT: Here is my thread on the same issue.

Thanks for feed back folks..
When fitting the fronts the dust cap was removed and it still did not fit flush with the hub?
spacers are needed size I think 7-8mm and longer wheel studs. Paragon has a set but for a 944
they require the spacer be machined to fit?

I also encountered this problem in the front when I switched to 996 wheels (7" front, 9" rear).
My solution was a 1/4" (6 mm) aluminum spacer from Performance Products (part #906471). They were not my retailer of choice for several reasons but the spacer is nicely machined and light weight (9 ounces each exactly). The price was just right at $26 a pair.
