I need wheel spacers, how big and where?
Hey guys,
Was finally working on swapping the rims off the 86 onto my 87 and found that the fronts are going to need spacers. Measured with the rim setting on as far as I can get it on there is 1/2" gap. It looks like the center of the rim is hitting the hub.
The thing is this is only on the front, must be some odd offset or something. I thought for sure they where going to be direct bolt on. The rears when on without problems.
Where abouts can I get these spacers?
BTW, Rims are off a 2000 + Boxster S, 17x7 front and 17x8.5 rear.
Here are a few pics:

I have boxster wheels on my car, and everyone told me I would need spacers for the front to clear the brakes, so I got the 2 spacers, but when I put the wheels on, they were fine w/o the spacers. They barely clear the caliper, but they do indeed clear, and I have been driving like that for about 1k miles. I wonder why you are having this problem, and I didn't.

Yea they clear the caliper fine. Its hitting that center cap. I bet if I where to take the center cap for the rotor off they would fit. Bad thing is my center caps for the rims wouldn't fit then
I found the spacers at paragon, $119 for 14mm spacers!

Ouch, here are some pics of mine. I don't know why my setup works w/o the spacers. If the spacers I have are the ones you need, I will sell them to you.

hmm those rims are a tad diffrent than mine. How thick are your spacers? I need 1/2", a lil more should be ok.
Here is what mine look like: (ignore the dirtyness)

Try to remove the dustcap/bearing cover and see if the wheels fit without hitting brakes or springs. If so then see if the wheel center cap will fit.
I had to take some material off of the dust cap OD to get my spacers on. The cap is slightly larger than hub OD.

I can't understand why spacers are so stooooopid expensive. Hell, it's just a hunk of constant-thickness metal with some holes in it. Someone out there has to have metric ones that are more reasonably priced.
