OT: Andrew, do you have more pics of the car in your avatar? I'd like to get a look at your hood and front end, in general. TIA E

The Huntley stage 2 I had came with a large o-ring to use on the base, about the size of the A/O separator o-ring

My turbo from Pauerman came with a plate to go over the stock o-ring and a gasket for between the turbo and adapter plate.

ehall, that picture is of our racecar, detailed build pictures can be found at www.autoanalyser.com/indexrace.htm , the pictures are in the cars page.

For our turbo we are going to weld a smaller tube into the oil return, about the size of the return on a GT R series turbo, and fill around it making the square hole round. Then I will build an adapter plate with a smaller Oring on top. I want to avoid using a paper gasket if at all possible.

Thanks,

Andrew

I've heard Huntley's turbos were like snowflakes -- no two exactly alike.

I'll look when I pull it all apart to install the 3 liter, but I'm fairly sure I got my o-rings from the dealer to install that turbo. In fact, I seem to recall someone (Tim Richards?) making an adapter early on, and Derek assuring me he'd made changes to eliminate the need.... Of course, I sometimes have memories that turn out to be old Brady Bunch episodes, so I may be confused again...

I've had 3 Huntley Turbos and none of them fit the same. I've had a lot of turbos on my car and Huntley's fit terrible. I've always used the O-ring for the bottom seal. With the Huntley turbos I could see the edge of the O-ring sticking out a little after it was installed although it never leaked. The Majestic turbo I have now fits much, much better.

Andrew, I know you don't want to use paper gaskets however if you need some I have a few sitting here I can send you for n/c.

Thanks eniac, but we found a way around the gasket.

we spent today welding up the turbo oil return and CNCing a new adapter plate. With the return hole round and smaller there is now enough flange area to support an O ring. So far so good. Tomorrow I have to make a T4 flange and modify the cross over and downpipe.
