Default Building boost, slow

Well, when I had my car on the Dyno 2 weeks ago, I noticed that I build boost on the slow side. I have my car at 16psi. My car starts to get A pound at 2,500RPM and have full 16psi at 3,500RPM. From there I drops down to 12psi by 6,200RPM. I replaced the vacuum hoses and everything seems to run good and tight. Am I missing something or is my turbo just getting old??..

What are you doing for boost control? If you have a stock turbo, 16psi by 3,500rpm is very slow... couple of things, check for leaks in the flanges on the tial, did you use both gaskets? One in the inlet one in the outlet?

Will I be able to tell with the car running if there are leaks in the Tial? Stock turbo k26/6. AFter seeing alot of guys getting about 15-16psi by 3,000 RPM range I started to wonder...

I had my Tial 38mm WG put in by my shop that I trust and they put them in there. Is there any where else that I should be looking? If nothing else, then do what? I looked at the wastegate with the car on and off with no leaks at all; cold and hot too. All the pipes that go to are good and sealed and the line to it for the control is good. I use the reli-boost thing that connects to the Tial in a single port mode (since I don't have a EBC).

Check to make sure that they put the wastegate on the right way (no pun intended). Check your BOV and IC pipes, retighten all clamps. Do you still ahve your cv hooked?

Well, in 5th gear I can get 15psi by 3,200 RPM but in 4th it still needs 3,500RPM to get it going. BOV is NEW, IC pipes I all tight and good. I just removed the intake back to the turbo yesterday and make sure everything was tight and connected, which it was. The Tial is installed to the best of my knowledge because I had my shop do it and they had done Tials before. CV is out! My Tial has the .9 bar as well, like that helps any. Someone post or put up a link to the right install picture of the Tial just so I can make sure. Beyond that, the ONLY thing I could think is either the turbo is old or the Tial is not working correctly for some reason.

What gear are you pulling in ? Is it possible you're revving before you're spooling ?

If the wastegate is staying completely closed initially, you should start building boost by 2000-2100 rpm, it should be at +/- 5 psi by 2500 with a stock turbo. I would look at the wastegate install/functionality... Your difference seems too big for an exhaust/intake leak because leaks that big would have other symptoms too. Good luck.

What kind of boost controller are you using. Check for any kinks connecting to the KLR box. Check your turbo to see if you have any shaft play. Are you burning oil?

I start at low RPM's (2,000RPM) then go full power. In 5th gear I get full boost by 3,200 RPM. In 4th gear I get full boost by 3,500 RPM. Boost is set at 15 PSI. Still waiting to see if anyone can send me a picture too. Like I said I don't have any leaks at all by the Tial when running. Cold and hot, no leaks so, not sure where to look??...

Ok, just checked the install on the Tial and it is right. So I really don't have any idea now... My boost builds smooth on the dyno with no spikes or anything. Where else should I be looking?

Mike, I know this isn't going to help, but mine does the same thing. I'm confused as well, i'm taking my car to a dyno in the next few weeks.
