my 3" mid-range door speakers from the 10 speaker sound package have completely rotten foam. They sounded terrible. I ended up removing them. These are the smaller ones. The woofers use a rubber surround. I can't seem to find good replacements anywhere.
Does anyone know of an after market brand that will retrofit? I dont want to replace the other speakers, just the bad ones as the stereo sounds very nice already.
If I have to purchase from the dealership, any idea on the damage? Already checked ebay. No luck. Not sure if more modern Porsche speakers such as those used from a 993 will work.
Thanks

I don't know how picky you are about your sound system, but to have various brands of speakers (ie factory + aftermarket) playing at the same time isn't going to sound right, but then again you may not notice it at all if you aren't a big audiophile.
I was under the impression that the mid-range speakers in M490 system were 4", in which case you should have no problems finding some that will fit. Any idea on how much mounting depth you have to work with?
