Default Shimming vs Tial for lightly modded cars

looking for feedback from those running Guru or Vitesse chips + MBC and then made the jump from shims to tial. I am not really planning more extensive mods so just curious if the tial makes that much of a difference on lightly modded cars.

I really didnt notice any difference going from my shimmed and in good shape stock wastegate
to a tial, I may hold boost a bit longer, but not much.

The biggest difference I saw was in the upper rpm's (5000 rpm and above). The stock shimmed WG would not hold 15 psi to redline, dropping off to about 12 psi on top. My Tial will hold 15 psi at redline in single-port mode with a Reliaboost.

It depends on how thick the shims are

I put my car on the dyno with a 38mm Tial and still have boost roll off but only down to about 12psi with guru chips and reliboost. My wastegate was in a good condition too and didn't notice a big difference in performance but I still thinking with more tuning that I can get more power.

Considering how inexpensive Tials are, and how much work is involved in removing the WG, why not just do it the first time. If you ever decide to add more mods, you'll ready and will haveone less expense.
