Low boost pressure
I need some advise. I have a 1987 944 turbo and the stock boost gauge will not go past the 3rd mark after the #1 on the factory boost gauge. I am running:
Lindsey chips
Lindsey boost enhanser
Fabspeed 3" cat-delete
Lindsey 4" catback
Lindsey bov
Lindsey adj. fuel pressure regulator
I have replaced all the vaccum lines and pressurised the system. I have a small leak at the bottom of the idle stabiliser valve but have been told that this should not cause the car to boost up th the #2 mark on the gauge.
I removed the Air meter and J-boot to inspect the turbo. No play in the shaft and blades are not damaged.
I than disconected the hose going to the waste gate the gague did not change and the car ran no diffrent. Any one with any ideas?

I stuck a bolt in the line going to the wastegate, and hoseclamped it real tight. Took it out for a spin (carefull!), if the wastegate is good then the car should make serious boost, like 20+psi. It did not boost past 14 or so, now with the new Tial, I get all the boost I need.

When u pulled and plugged the hose connected to the wastegate, u did plug the end of the hose going to the manual boost controller/ cv/ or banjo bolt on the turbo output pipe...right???? Otherwise u plugged the wrong end of the hose.
