Default Oil drain plug

I need an oil drain plug. Can someone give me the size of the bolt, maybe I can find one at the local hardware? I need it ASAP.

Tonight I finished my car, and took it out for a quick drive. An IC pipe blew off, I stopped and saw smoke like crazy, and oil all over the ground. I thought for sure it was the rear main or oil pan gasket already! Nope, I just forgot to tighten the oil drain plug and it fell out!! It is always some mundane detail! Well, hopefully driving it for over 2 miles while pissing oil didn't kill the engine! (It leaked about 2 qt's after I stopped, so I think I will be okay.)

I believe it is 20mm diameter. A simple one (without the magnet) is available at the local autoparts joint. I got one here in CA at Kragen.

No, I really can't make it. I guess I cut things a little too close. . . .I got a few days behind schedule. My PP and flywheel bolts came off without a hitch. I guess I was lucky. How is your clutch job coming besides that?

I used the stock pressure plate with the Spec Stage 3 copper metalic (If I am thinking of the right material.) and I went with the 6 puck with springs. I guess that material mates really well with the stock PP or something. Anyways, it is kind of off/on, not much room for slipping the clutch. It is not as bad as I thought it would be, though. The feel is much better than stock, and I am very happy with it. Downshifts need to be a bit more precise for a smooth transition, but I am sure I will get used to that. I am very happy with the few miles I put on so far.

Ian, I will give you a ring. I want to try to make it down there early early Friday morning. We might have to wait until after the weekend, though.

I really like my Fumoto oil drain valve. It beats lying your your back and struggling to get out a (sometimes) stuck oil drain plug:

Check out your local Pep Boy/Western Auto/Advanced/etc... These guys have some oil drain plugs on the isles. Depending on where you go, the parts counter computer may tell you the size of the thread + the threads per inch/mm.

The PET should also say the thread size (Sorry, at work).

It is a M20 x 1.5 mm. The hex socket size may vary depending on the plug (might be 15 mm).
