reno808: That's the whole point. I am sick and tired of putting money in this car to find the problem.

i thought about it this way: ive already sunk xxx amound and will only get yyy if i sell it. i wasnt prepared for that loss (xxx-yyy) to essentially go in vain. lots of mods dont necessarily mean a great increase in price. i figured that it wasnt cost efficient to get rid of the car, and i'm currently having a clutch job and entire engine rebuild done. by the time i'm done, a lot of the mechanical parts of the car will have zero miles on them and a warranty.

G'day Ignacio,

Sorry to hear your having probs with the 951. Sounds like your stuck between a rock and a hard place if you have reached the point of not wanting to put more money into the car. $8k sounds pretty cheap though, heck for that kind of dough I'd look at bringing it to Australia.

Cheers

How sick of it would you be if you realized that as-is it's maybe a $5500 car?

dime1622: I know I won't get back what I put into the car. Heck the Wolf3D was $3500 and the suspension almost $2000. This is $5500 total and thus $2500 for the rest of the car. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Jfrahm: OZ951 and Chris White believe that $8000 is a good price for the car as is, so I don't think that $5500 will ever be in the picture. If it does go that low then so be it.

OZ951: Wayne I'll keep you posted.

Can you send me a pic of the engine and some interior shots to sh944@rennlist.com? Also, I'm assuming you are running the stock offset for the '86 on the wheels, right (no spacers)? A few other exterior shots are welcome, too, if you have them. How road worthy is the car, fluttering boost aside? Think it could make a long trek, or does it need to be transported? I'm interested in the whole car, not parts...

Regards,

sh944: I will have to take some pictures of the engine bay and interior once I get the car back. I am using no spacers on the CCW wheels and the cup replicas. They bolt right on. The car drives fine aside from the boost fluttering. I drove it out from the shop to my house after the Wolf3D install. I tested the car a litle before it went to my usual mechanic to get the "new" turbo installed. I honestly feel that it could make a long trek. The car is not registered in WA, and hasn't been since I left Texas 2 years ago. I do have the title in hand though. I had mentioned that I would rather sell the car as a whole instead of parting it out. I'll email you some pictures I have. I will take the pics of the engine and interior when I get the car back.

Sorry to hear of all your trobles iborroel!

But I think this hole problem is a simple one, and it lies on the BOV.I don't think that it has anytning to do with the turbocharger or wastegate. that flutter is a sudden decompression of the intake system, and not a gradual loss of boost. So before giving up why don't you just get your self a known good stock BOV and change it and also check you vacumm diagram to make sure it is correct.

Good lock my friend!!.....and I hope you keep it.

Regards,
AL

AL951: I will probably give this a try but I am still not optimistic. If it does fix it I am still going to sell it. I just don't want to put money into it again later on.
