Default Doing a custom Piggyback soon

I am going with a new setup from turboXS.. its very affordable and its a really nice package..

Right now all it will let me do it fuel but i think they have plans for ignition stuff later.

its bascily their "tuner" (a wideband o2 setup) and the D-tec (guages, inputs/outputs, editing ect)

it displays/edits all the data on a gameboy SP which is nice I am tired of the pods and guage piller on my camaro as it is (dont wanna do it to the porsche)..

To get this done I need some info, I need some signal wire locations:
MAF
TPS
RPM
knock sensor

It would be nice to pick these up in the interior by the cars computer if possible

I will be picking up the Tuner/dtec tommarow
and am going to try and get this done in the next few weeks

so any help/insight would be great! TIA

-Bill

Stock cars don't have a MAF. It has a barn door airflow meter. It's signal is found on pin 7 of your DME. The TPS has several signals. You probably want pin 22 on the KLR. RPM is pin 22 of the DME. This car has a knock sensor, but it is very unlikely that its signal will work with your gameboy. The DME and KLR are in the passenger footwell, and all the pins can be tapped in the harness going to them. If you don't have performance chips yet, however, you should start with that.

I don't care for those type of PB systems. The Turbo XS DTEC will accomplish fuel tuning by intercepting the AFM signal (similar to the Apex AFC). The problem with this is that timing is also affected and not accounted for with the PB. I liked the Turbo XS UTEC which is a much more powerful PB system (had it on my WRX) which allows tuning of the fuel AND timing.

Don't do that. The autothority MAF is a plug and play which basically means that you can't use it with what you intend to do. You have to rewire it and without the proper knowledge about our cars I doubt that you will suceed.

I agree its not the best solution.. but it will get the job done just as well as any other fuel piggy back setup.. the utecs are about the strangest piggyback I have ever seen.. but they work when you need them to and fairly well..

I am more in it to make small adjsutments to the fuel and check my a/f and ha ve a nice/simple set of guages

I will be fine i have a multimeter and i know how to use it

belive it or not this is just a high tech way of doing that autothority does when you take a car to their dyno..

the previsous owner of my car had it taken there (to autothority).. i have the documents and recipts.. and basicly all they would do is slap it on the dyno and tweek it via resistors bridging the signal wire and the groud on the maf..

thats not a "bad" solution either if you are carefull.. BUT this setup wil give me alot more control

you would better served to get the Mafterburner or SMT6 piggybacks - spend more $$ and get support to go along with it plus support here from all of the listers who have the products already installed, trouble shot, etc. just my .02 worth

I need locations injector pulse and knock signal wires..

injector pulse is not a big deal if that cent be had in the cabin i can nab it off an injector.

The setup comes with a really nice knock/shift light as well (this is why i need the knock signal)

Turns out they were all out of the tuners.. so its gunna be two weeks before i can get it
But it will be a new smaller version

The setup will do everything the mafterburner does and a good bit more.

I would probably go with one of those but I am getting a great deal on the turboXS setup that and I like trying new things.

ok.. this is what i am thinking
DME-1 for rpm
DME-7 for MAF
KLR-22 for TPS
KLR-15 for knock light

then I am still trying to figure out how i want to handle injector pulse width..
on pins 14-15 on the DME? what is TI?
