Default Power steering hoses alternatives

Anyone ever replaced the hoses off of the P/S reservoir with stainless steel braided hoses or something that will not leak, rot, go bad, swell, etc.? Anyone know of a metal reservoir which still fits in our cars easily that can have threaded fittings put on it?

I use stainless braided hoses on the power steering, working great for 2 years.

So how did you adapt to stainless hoses. What would be best.....or cost effective? Right now I have some pre curved hoses coming off my reservoir with a slip fit connector adapting it to my old lines about 12-16 inches away from the reservoir. This would work great, but the only hoses I found with pre-curved 90's AND correct size ends is a water type hose...which is apparently swelling and causing my pump to whine when turning. All the fluid is new, the belt is tight, and I can see fluid seeping through the pores of the hoses. I could get new factory hose for the one NOT going to the cooler considering it is the old style, but I hate to buy a new cooler hose. Would a good alternative be to buy a metal reservoir, thread the connections then get compression fitting to adapt to the cooler and the metal end of the other ones on the metal lines already in place? Any ideas would be helpful. I thought the lines I had looked great, they just don't perform great.

Oh so i could just use the stainless lines on my current reservoir rather than getting a metal one.....I don't have to have threaded ends. Just get the stainless hose, cut to fit, and use hose clamps. I guess to make it look decent one could get the end covers to cover the clamps....How does this work with the reservoir ports being bigger than the line? (You know how it reduces down in size) I could continue to use my plastic connectors I have with my rubber hoses that are one size on one side and a smaller size on the other....?

I thought the return line had some sort of special cooling line integrated into it. If this has not been a problem with SS hoses what is the cost savings over OEM type hoses?

I believe he is referring to after that cooling zig zag part of the hose ...
The OEM (whole hose ) is like 125

Okay, I guess the -8 fits the part going down by the water pump and the -10 goes to the cooler. this doesn't look that difficult at all, and much cheaper than buying an OEM cooler line. Of course I'll think it's the hardest install in the world once my hand gets jammed up by the headlight......
