Default CT Emission Test Results v/Vitesse Chip !

Good News !

I brough my mostly stock 951 to a test center (Goodyear tire shop recommended by my mechanic) for the new test regimen.

Car is a 1986 944 Turbo, stock except for Vitesse <15psi chips and a boost enhancer. I dialed the LBE down to 11psi setting to try to keep boost lower than I typically run at.

Results:
HC CO NOx
Test Limit: 200 .64 1400
Emission Results: 86 .41 551

Car was run on the rolllers at 2400 rpm, in second gear (I believe). The tech ran the engine up to 2400 rpm nice and slow and held it dead even, no blipping. I was not sure what the Vitesse software would do in the testing, but Johns handi-work came through !

Anyway, just wanted to share, I was REAL happy to see the tech give the thumbs up, now I can get that new steering rack I've been dreaming about (in meetings at work) !

- Later.

Do you have a cat? Would there be a chance of passing without one? Thanks.

My 951S passed emmissions with the welt chips and no cat with flying colors. Depends on the state and test tho, where I am it's a simple sniffer test. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't pass on a dyno test...

Darn....I just went through. Guess that means I didn't need to swap my chips before I went....

I passed w/ 29, .18 and 611 on the same scale.

I am going to run mine through CT emissions in the same configuration that I dynoed it - if it passes, I am going to laugh my *** off.

Ben Z, I do have a cat installed.

Will951, I live in North Madison (off Rt 79), I think I've seen you around in Durham. Look/listen for my Red 951 w/the car seat in the back, and a Borla....

Cool....I live off Rt. 77..... less than a half mile to 79 via Sand Hill Rd. Spend a lot of time on 79 cycling.

I dig the car seat!!

See you around!
