Default Clutch failed to disengage

Hi All,
I was at a track event and my clutch failed to disengage after the 5 hour drive to get there. I adjusted the clutch pedal play to lengthen the rod and that did the trick. I was able to get back home. I need to figure out what to do next. I had previously adusted the clutch play to get more play. It was running fine though before I got to the track and had the problem. I was expexting the clutch to slip when it needed to be replaced, not get stuck engaged. Is this typical as clutches wear? My mechanic did indicate a ways back that the clucth looked worn based on the inspection hole. Did I just dial in too much play? Will it happen again with the clucth play at a minimum?

Thanks,
Mark
