Default home depot racing?

I am not here to hate on lindsey racing just to start off this thread. But here is a small story of mine.

I went down to home depot today today in search for a "Air Pressure Regulator"(suggested by a friend). Once down there i looked around and finally found what i needed. When i finally took a good look at this "regulator" i noticed some thing familiar. It was identical to the Lindsey racing boost controller.

So im like hey cool and i head over to the cash register. The lady scans it in and the total comes to 20.10$!@!! I couldn't belive it 20$ and the thing is identical to the lindsey racing one which they ask 64 plus shipping for!!! The cool thing is the kit comes with a 0-130 psi gauge that can be used for what ever.

Now, i know that the lindsey kit comes with elbows and hoses but i can get those for 10$ total if not free because i have many random parts around the house. If you don't belive me well here is a picture of it.

Once again this isn't a lindsey racing hate thread it is just stating that i got a part for 1/3 of the price

Hehe I thought more people knew that
Although I kind of like Lindsey Racing, the pressure regulator works really bad with a very small adjustment range.

You do have to be careful though with the range - you really want a 0-30 psi one. The 0-130's aren't overly sensitive for the adjustment we need. If HD does sell the 0-30's then you're golden.

yeah I've known long before I had a porsche but if you pay close attn to rating on the back you can get a more finely adjustable one.

Eh, I cant justify spending the amount of cash on this car, then putting in something I know is less than accurate. Personal opinion.

Well, you live in CT, you get a wide range of temperatures just like us in NY, that controller you have is not going to hold a constant boost, you're going to have to adjust it for tempterature changes. Another plus about EBC's.

You realize that lindsey uses the same one. Same pressure specs (i could not find a regulator alike this one that has a smaller band of pressures [usually .5-125 to 5-170])

I have a leak valve right now and it works just fine.

I'm not spending the money on a ebc cause i do not think they are worth the hundreds of $.

Personal opinion

Ian: Better close this thread before Andrew comes

If you are really concerned with a cheap solution, there are lots of boostr controllers on ebay going for $10-$30 or so........
