Default I have had it....need help

Can anyone tell me if the bolts that mount the intake bracket to the block are the same? I can get the left one in, that one holds the bracket and air/oil separator heat sheld, but for the past 2hours, I have had no sucess with the right one. This is the one that hold the bracket, heatshield and turbo down pipe to the block. I am assuming that the two bolts are the same, am I wrong?

My fingers are raw, my forarm is shreaded, my legs and back are killing me and I have lost all patience...*%^%#$%!!!!

That one is a major pain in the butt. Most poeple install a stud in it's place, that way you can shove all the shields and turbo downpipe over it and then put a nut on easier than trying to start a bolt. I would take a small pick and make sure that the holes are all lining up, and then see if the bolt will start. As far as the size, i believe they are the same.

That is a great idea! Since the turbo in not bolted in place yet, I think I will try it.

Well, I couldn't find any studs so I gave it one more shot with the bolt. After removing the turbo, installing the left bolt (for the bracket and heat shiedl only) snug enough so that it would not move around while the right holes lined up, it went in on the second try.

Lesson learned, though the stud would have made it volumes easier. Thanks guys.

Is this with or with out the down pipe? If it is without then you will be getting a little surprise when you install the turbo & downpipe.

The stud idea is a good way to go. The other choice is to leave that bolt off – many have done this without anything bad happening (including my track car!)

It is definately with the down pipe on. That was the piece that was giving me the most grief. I could get the bracket, heatshied and block lined up no problem. It wsa the damn downpipe that didn't want to play well with others.

So now you have the down pipe bolted in place with out the turbo in place. That will make bolting up the turbo a little more aggravating.
I wouldn’t tighten up the bolt just yet…

Actually the turbo and down pipe were never separated. The only pipe that is not connected yet is the cross over pipe from the right side of the turbo.
