In some cases I have seen a loss of power. It depends which system you get, muffler or not... Cat-back or complete 3".

Hmmmm I wonder how much of that was the more solid boost at higher rpm?

I am talking about no cat or front muffler, and a straight though muffler.

NZ, we dont have two mufflers here, thats euro thing... I can answer you since I have 3 inch just from the test pipe back, which is only a bursch (2.5) And the muffler is baffled, though the baffles are "designed" to accelerate the exhaust. (spintech muffler)

What about SFR? Dont they make one with tons of empirical data? Try them!

I am going to take my O2 out and pressure test the exhaust and then design a custom exhaust if the pressure is high...

Seriously now, that is very interesting! Question is......why? a cat-back doesn't yeild any power, a test-pipe does increase power/spool since there is less backpressure.

My car came without a cat/front muffler, that is the STOCK German spec and i checked this several times with Porsche ME.

I recall TonyG posting some useful data (real world) on the Borla XR-1 mufflers, the "only true free flowing" muffler in the market.

Does Borla make a 3" to 3" XR1 muffler?
