Default K27 users, Was it hard to adapt jboot to the turbo?

I installed a K27 recently and picked up an adaptor that is supposed to allow me to hook the jboot to the compressor inlet. I have the stock afm and air box and now the jboot is too long. The adapter is almost like an exhaust tube connector but it has a gradual increase in diameter. It sits flush with the compressor inlet and is attached with a rubber sleeve. The other end slides into the end of the jboot. I have heard that the jboot has to be cut. How did you get this to work?

You guys need to search. I have told people 5 times - you need to buy a $10 944 NA boot from ebay - this fits PERFECTLY.
You need to buy a couple of tees from Home depot - that's all. Plus - you do not bring the throat down to 2 inches, just to open it up again - that is the DUMBEST way to do it possible.

Special tool,

Here is a pic of an NA boot. I have the stock afm and air box. I think you are running a maf with cone where the air box is right? Ihave the adaptor here and the OD of the end that is flush with the comressor inlet is 2 11.5/16". Is this the approximate ID of the NA boot where it qwould attach to the turbo and does the other end attach to the turbo afm ok?

the k27's inlet is 2.75",try measuring the jboot if it fits.the n/a boot should go on fine with the turbo afm, since its identical.

Alpine - yes. I had my k27 with AFM AND with MAF with NA boot - I wouldn't tell you if I hadn't built it with my own 2 dirty hands - it works really well.
You just have to TEE 2 of the lines into one port.

I had an idea to go buy a cold air intak kit from one of the many kits on ebay that are like $20. They have the ports on them. If I could find on that had two ports and was 2.75" diamter it could work. I drove out to a local auto parts store to see if they had any. Nothing. While I was there i figured why can't an exhaust shop make one up for me. I stopped in a Meineke and they didn't have the right size tubing. The owner mentioned Stones cycle in my home town which was just down the road. Stone is like an orange county choppers place. Nice custom bikes. I walked in and he said if I can get the tubing he can put the ports on. I came back 15 minutes later with 2.75" tubing and showed him where to put the ports. Should be ready tomorrow. $30. Just have to cut the J bnoot off before the diverter valve. local place has the silicone coupler too, $9.
