when you take it out of the bottom, how do you get the chassis high enough? is a floor jack enough to raise it?

I used my engine hoist to lift the front end.

Not sure a floor jack will be enough.

I used a floor jack to get the car up high enough. I put jack stands under the front frame alignment points (the round things), they were a rather short set of jack stands, but they did the trick. I pulled the engine out through the passenger wheel well, with suspension, and wheel well liner removed of course. The front of the car was nowhere near high enough, but it fit out the wheel well quite nicely.

On my 951, I used the engine hoist to lift the front end of the car up. I think the jackstands are much much safer.

I used some custom made jack stand ( about 3 feets hight ) clear the engine by the front. Really easy, but I had to put the car down without motor... outch! with the front so light and the back toooo heavy, the front go up and the back fall when you try to jack the middle point. Don't try this alone!!! how I know.

Good luck!
