I have read about some very nice 951s on this board and other place but I do not feel that they are as complete as this car. Some are dedicated racers and others are just going for big horse power, I have a great deal of respect for these cars but I feel this car will really set its self apart from the other big name 951s out there. There will be much more info to come on this car as its build and testing comes to completion.
Please don't put a "higher" rear spoiler that you eluded to in an earlier post, I personally think and others may agree that an adjustible 968 rs spoiler is the way to go...

951north, I am still undecided about the rear wing. I have thought about that wing from A.I.R. but I don't like the side pods. I have seen a non-ajustable version that is that hieght which I liked but still had the same sides. What I pick willnot be tasteless and huge I doubt it will be taller than the 968 turbo s one. I just havn't found what I am looking for yet. The hood is very nice and has me thinking.

Default Hood

The hood on the RS is nice...here's an idea of how to do it on the 951 that in my opinion doesn't look too shabby . I'm trying to decide if the hood should just include the header panel (for rigidity when duct is formed) and open as a whole piece - which would allow smoother lines. Personally I think if done correctly with carbon fiber or even in sheet metal with the duct as part of the hood it would def. give an "endurance" feel to the car, as well as give more flowing lines sans seams. And with a screen on the backside of the intercooler attached to the hood, it would prevent debris from entering the engine bay. Design was inspired from the C-5 vettes from Rolex 24hr at daytona. (Photochop on Kokeln Orca sorry guys!!) Should have a working prototype by january/feb.

Guns I like that hood it has nice clean lines, I would do something similar but with a grill in it. This would not happen soon but I want to send the car back to the body shop in the winter of 07'. I would like round ferrari tail lights (quad), some sort of hood vent, and wide body in the rear, I do not know if I will wait until then for a rear wing or do that sooner. That kokeln bumper is nice too. I thought about there GTR bumper but it had to much going on, the new one is nice though.

I have also up dated the pictures of my hand painted emblem and also made it my avatar.

Nice work. Please be sure to post your dyno results when you finish tuning. Dyno sheets are like **** for me. Better yet, get a picture of Jenna Jameson holding your dyno sheet.

I will post all of my dyno graphs, and hope to make the top ten hp list (I don't think this will be a problem). The graphs from tuning won't be that high because it is a newly rebiult engine and won't be fully broken in. I don't think I will be higher than 10psi at time of tuning. Once the engine break in is done I will be going back to the dyno for a high boost final tune, these numbers will hopefuly break 400whp but remember I still have the stock cam. This is because I am thinking about Lindsey solid lifters and don't want to buy a differnet cam until I make that chioce. Cam work will done by spring, at this piont i will go back to the dyno to do some high octane high boost pulls for some glory numbers, and see how high up the HP list I can get.

In the spring I will also go to the drag strip and do some other timed testing. I will also post lap times from different tracks over the next season. (lime rock, monte tremblant, watkins glen, and nhis) I might also be doing one lap in the spring. I will also be doing some top speed testing.

Default New pictures

The hood was off of the car for a while, while we finished the engine install. Now that that is done I took a few pictures and I updated the gallery.

The car is DuPont Gun metal grey, it is a tricoat color. The stripes only use one coat of pearl, where as the rest of the car is 5 coats black base, 6 coats pearl, and 5 coats of clear.

The tires are 225/45/17 on 17x8 wheels, and 275/40/17 on 17x10 wheels.

First great job!
Ok, here is the only thing...Go buy another set of tail lights and red them out with testors candy apple red. The contrast of red out tail lights and that body color would blow your mind!

The project is moving along now quickly, we hope to start the car this week.

I have made a few changes and ordered a few new parts, I have decided to go with a custom Vitesse chip to start, I would like to thank John for writing a chip that uses all of my hardware. I have the chip now and we are finishing the engine bay now, things are just beings checked and tightened. There is a little bit of wiring that has to happen and then it is ready to go.

I have decided to go with Lindsey racing solid lifters and a 472L 234D cam. The car will be started first with the stock cam and then the lifters and new cam will go in, new escort cup coil overs are coming from Lindsey as well with camber plates. Street valve 500lb front 350lb rear. I am also getting an Afterburner MBC from Lindsey.

I am doing so work on the rear end now involving rear aero dynamics and the lack of them; this is being documented in another thread.

I have new center caps for my wheels, I did not really like the HRE center caps and wanted some thing that had the Porsche logo on it, I got these from wheel enhancement, they are polished billet alu. with a painted metal emblem set into them.
