FOUND turbo knowledge! (reading about managing standalone ECU's)
heeelp!
I need all knowledge turbo!
what kind of turbos with no mods fit a 944?
any turbo will fit ANY car if you make custom pipes and find room for it right?
what do these things mean?
T3/T4
T04B
T04S
T04E
what do different trims do?
what do different housings do?
what PSI could an 8.5-9.0 : 1 compression engine could run safely?
and the lower the compression the higher boost you can run right?
what compression should you have to be safe at 20-25 PSI?
or with proper fuel ratio and headgasket you dont need very low compression?
and anything else that you think I should know about turbos.

I agree with above. read this book first.
Maximum Boost by Corky Bell
All the numbers are different to4 models/trims
Yes you can basically put any turbo on anything if you build a setup, but the trick is to match the setup to the engine and desired performace, but include a brake upgrade and suspension upgrade. Also cooling system upgrade.
Generally with low compression like 8 or 9 to1 you should be able to run 12-16 psi.
25 psi would take a lot of work and $, like maybe reworked engine internals depending, oringed heads, clutch, tranny, drivtrain in general, stand alone programable FI, and race gas.
At those boost levels there is no room for error, so you really need a good FI system.

does the turbo need to be higher than the oil level in the oil pan?
and are intercoolers able to be mounted on the front like the radiator of the 944?
what if the ac is gone that way there isnt a condenser?
and are there intercoolers where the turbo to intercooler inlet is on the bottom and the intercooler to intake is on the top?
and does the 951 use a different cam?

2)Yes with some mods
3)Yes
4) The intercooler pipes are on the same level, the outlet from the turbo to intercooler is lower and the intercooler to turbo is higher (due to the turbocharger's index).
For bolt on applications, make sure you use a KKK hotside. But the T04S (used the GT models) need a custom oil return. The T04E and T04B turbochargers are almost bolt-on and used by the majority of the 951 performance vendors.

I just sold everything you would need to convert.. I canned mine due to time and the wife finding out how much money was being dumped into the car...
I still have an turbo intake and throttle body as well as engine harness. They are on ebay for another day or so..
You will also need turbo pistons, Rods....

blah blah.
1: buying a 951 will NOT be cheaper. (the cost of this should run just at $1000 or less beleive it or not)
2: I dont need turbo rods and pistons....for now. (low boost)
3: I dont need turbo manifold or any of that. (i might need a turbo DME or just get a chip made)
