Default Hood Pads!

Before and after... I'll be giving details on my rennlist site soon. I got them from Ian at 944online. You need to cut off a patch not used on our cars (good 'ol Porsche parts updating...) and the old glus is a pain to get off...

Tom:

Wow, the new ones look beautiful! But I have to ask you, how long did it take to get off the old ones, like 100%? Must have been a long time?

They were actually so old and dry, I was able to get the bulk of them off with a shop vac. I just stuck the vac against the pad and it sucked everything off except the glue. The glue was a pain. I used goo-be-gone, paint cleaner, etc. and got about 99% of it off. When I peeled the paper off the new pads, I could see that they come with a very thick, very gooey coating of adhesive. So thick it makes me wonder if I needed to go to all the effort to get the old glue off. Don't recall the price -- bought them a while ago. Should be listed on 944online.com

Ski:

Sent you back an email yesterday, didnt hear back yet from you. Busy with the family?

Also, with these hood pads, do they really make THAT much of a difference of retaining heat? Or not really.

For a street car, I think the pads are worth the extra protection.

Rob, got it, just got busy at work - breaking in new contractors and sending some of them HOME!

I'm pretty sure they make a temp difference to your hood (could be good, could be bad). They also clean up the bay alot.
