Early 944 NA block can be used for Turbo swap?

The older block will work fine. You do have to look into the oil passage for the turbo's oil lin e- but there isn't much else.
USe your turbo's head, and oil pan. Use the BLOCK's balance shaft covers. Use all the turbo internals - especially the pistons, and you'll also want to make sure you update the old block if needed with the newer water pump. I wouldn't re-use that anyway.
Pay careful attention to the turbo oil line... It NEEDS to be there.
