Default Bolts for underbody tray

Hey Guys
Anyone know from the PET what the specs are on the under tray bolts are
I am refering to the 10 bolts that hold up the under body tray
I want to order them from a place called Bel-Metric (if they even have them)
thanks in advance

Heh, I have this issue as well. Apparently over the years some of the screws have been lost so I have all kinds of different screws under there. Even a star-head screw! It took me six different drivers to get that stupid panel off. You want to find a local nut and bolt supply store that will let you walk in and buy in small quantity. They may even be able to reccomend something better than the stock screws. There is a place in town like this that has haved saved me on many occasions! Don't forget...there's also the junkyard!

According to Pet you'll need 11 M6 x 15. Don't forget to get flat washers to go under them...

Thanks Phil
Wow I thought they were 20 mm long at least counting the head ??? I just measured it again ?
Are you sure that's the 10 underbody screws and not the smaller philips head screws in the front
Thanks again
Ed

You don't count the head when you measure a bolt, just the threads!

And the washers aren't flat, they are like a lopped off funnel, so you can't crush the plastic tray. I suspect most dealers have these in stock, but you might want to buy them in the bag of 10 since they always seem to come up missing.

Dealer? EEEk! Those are pretty standard bolts. You can get them at the Rancho hardware store. The only problem is the hardware store bolts will be shiny zinc rather than the yellow look of the factory bolts.

p.s. I bought a big box of long M6 bolts, and just cut them to length (and chamfer the end with the grinder) when in a pinch.

Yea, but the washers are set up so they wont crack the fiberglass tray .....
I saw a bolt that was really close but it was 20mm vs 15mm so I dont know if it will fit
and look like it has that black oxide coating on it.
Regards
Ed

I believe Toyota dealers stock those bolts, or very similar.

I always wondered if it would be worth it to replace all those nuts with M6 studs and use wingnuts.

I use a air or electric ratchet to remove the bolts and it makes really quick work of it.
If you use the air make sure you lower the psi down. It takes not time that way
