Lindsey Racing 3.0L 8V - Dyno Results

Dfastest, I hope you remember your pledge about the 944fest "IF I still have it in July" you said you would come. Having that trophy on your shelf would go a long way toward keeping that handle. FWIW, there will be other 3.0 monsters here, I know of cars that keep a low profile, internet wise!
It would be awesome to see a West coast/East coast shootout!

sniff.........sniff...........i smell something in the air, smells like someone...doesn't like what Lindsey Racing can do
Just for the record, you are comparing two different cars. One is built for the track, one is built for the street. Not to mention, Tony could had easily spent that money on a 3.1L+ 16v head and built and "ultimate" 951, instead he kept it 2.5L 8v to show what can be done, keeping the block stock and the head 8v
Rob, to satisfy some rennlisters who are concerned about power (which is usually the case). Crank up the boost to 20, 21, 25psi and get to the 600whp mark, add the bigger turbo turbine as well.

Here is what Lindsey Racing can do, take $40,000 and turn out $ / HP very below average results. Sure the numbers are above average, but for the money? sniff sniff. It will cost Special Tool a tenth of the money to get more HP. Thats all I am saying about it.

NZ951. I got 415rwhp at 17.5psi@6000rpm to 6900rpm and 379ft/tq at 5000rpm, using the stock intercooler, and this can be done with pump gas(93-94octane) ..... especially now, with the new front mount intercooler(3"x23"x12").
With the new intercooler, I saw a 2.5psi gain in boost due to the diminished pressure drop. So the turbo charge will be much cooler and the the intercooler is also more efficient....which should lead to better numbers and reliability.
This is on the 2.5L, but this summer I will be running this set up with a MID sleeved 2.8L block ... So I should be well above the 480rwhp at18psi....time will tell
hosrom_951 > My car is actually more street then track. I actually still have the Ac, strereo, stock ride height, carpets, half cage, and all accessories, but with gobs of power, from 4000RPM to 7200rpm, wich works real well at the track and on the street, you just have to be in the right gear(one lower).

The thing is with a built short block like that he could run 420rwhp on something stupid like 13psi and pump fuel and have it last for years. Not month's or a year or two...but, year's. Thats pretty damn impressive and if you cant see past all the bull****....then well. Wtf are we doing here anyways. There will always be more than one way to skin a cat. This setup proved itself and will yield the kind of reliablity that not alot can garnish.
Vitesse racing is just as impressive and their turbos are surely leading tech just like some of the things I am sure were used in this project. Dont have blind hate towards something...or someone thats just stupid. Specials car is seriously impressive as well and I am sure we aren't near done seeing either one of the cars. Both have much more in them.
Why cant people just say goodjob nice ride and leave it at that.
And that is all I am going to say about that

NZ: I have avoided defending myself for countless months, because I wanted nothing to do with you and still don't. I think you are rude, let alone a very immature "kid". But now, now, you've stepped over the line and I am sick of it. First off, "I" started this thread to share with everyone my experiences and satisfaction with my car 3.0L. If you have nothing "positive" to say, get off of my thread, period. I don't need your uncalled comments to any degree. Secondly, where the hell do you come off saying my project costed me $40K with Lindsey? You have no idea how much I spent with them. Third, let's talk about your car for a second. What RWHP does your car make? Does it make BIG HP numbers? Does it have a very impressive TQ curve too? Please start a new thread so we all can see your best run and critique it too.
More important, let's talk about driving skills for a moment. Why? Because any monkey who is rich can buy a car, build it, and attain high HP numbers on a dyno. That being said, I propose this to you. Why don't you fly over the the US and pick any race track you want, any. Then choose whatever kind of car/s you like, or can afford to test for the day, and let's have a real sprint or endurance race. How about for pink slips too? Choose any class you like, whether it's Skip Barber Formula Dodge, Dodge Pro, Toyota Atlantic, 125cc Shifter-Go Karts, ALMS or IMSA. And once and for all, I will put you in your place to show you that a driver's skill is what really counts, not a car per say.
Ok, now that I vented I am better. So the ball is in your court now. You can PM me and we can make this happen. And if you think I am kidding, I am NOT! So in ending, please don't contribute to this thread if you don't have anything nice to say, let alone make "***"umptions about my car that you know nothing about. And if by chance you turn this thread into a NZ vs. Lindsey (which would be nothing new to the entire community), I will close the thread. And I don't want that to happen too. So be forewarned.
