$2750 is an outstanding price.

Chris,
What all does that 2750 include, obviously it includes boring and sleeving the block but what about pistons and rods? Also what diameters do you do for the 2.5 and 3 liter blocks? And lastly is there somewhere that I can find out more info about your service, hmmm maybe that should have been my first question.

That price is awfully high for sleeving a block. A while back i was going to build a bored out sleeved 928 s4 turbo motor. The price from my machine shop was $100 a hole to bore it and sleeve it and then you have custom turbo pistons made by weisco or others for about $700 for 8. I am sure the price for sleeving has gone up though.

The price includes sleeving the block with Darton MID sleeves (do a search for pictures on another thread), JE pistons, wrist pins and clips and Total Seal rings. The sleeves are plateau honed to match the pistons/rings.
Sizes – the 2.5 block can be from 100mm to 104mm, the 3.0 form 101.5mm to 106mm. The price is the same for what ever diameter you want.

As for $100 a hole…..well – you get what you pay for and there are a lot of bad sleeving jobs out there….The cost of the MID sleeves is just under $1k for the sleeves alone...

I haven't forgotten you Chris. I may take out a student loan soon! joke. I wouldn't do that...or would I?
BTW how many of these have you done on 3.0 blocks? I have a line on one for a really good price with crank and pistons, So i may buy it for the crank and sell the block, pistons etc. Unless you feel that there are some distinct advantages to sleeving the 3.0 block....other than extra displacement. Anyway. I'm still accumulating the funding. Good to see you posting E

The advantage of the 3.0 block is that it fits the 16v head!!
Other than that the 3.0 will go to 106m and the 2.5 only goes to 104mm.
I would not get carried away over the last 2mm – it’s too expensive to justify the difference if you are staying with the 2v head.
Chris White
BTW – if you do get a good deal on the 3.0 and wan tot sell the block I might have a NA customer that needs a 3.0 block.
