Default Question about wheel and tire sizes

My car came with what I am 99.9% positive to be BBS RS wheels, with the inside painted white. I replaced my tires with some Kumho ASX tires soon after I got the car and just had them put on the same sized tires.

Can someone help me make sense of these numbers under my wheel caps?

Front wheels: 8Jx16 H2 ET 68 and also has "RS056"

Rear wheels: 9Jx16 H2 ET 15 and has "RS055"

Does this mean I have 8 and 9" wide wheels? If so, shouldn't I have wider than the following tire sizes:

205/55R16 91W on the front
225/50R16 92W on the rear

I ask because my rear tires haven't much tread left, and was looking into new tires and hoped I could get a wider tire, and also hoped to learn a bit more about wheel sizes.

Thanks in advance

Yes those #'s mean you have 8x16 front and 9x16 rear wheels.
If so you can inrease the size tire quite a bit.
On 8" wheels you can run 245's, on the 9" wheels you can run 245's maybe
265's.
If you go to the "Tire Rack" site, find the tire you want to use then click on specs
it will tell you the size wheel you need to run a particular size tire.
