Default Ignition Switch for Gauge

Did a search, there were a few pics but were not able to be uploaded because of the old archives.

Basically, i need to wire the oil temperature gauge to the ignition switch. Correct me if i am mistaken, but i would need to splice into the red and black wires on the switch?

I have 2 Red and 2 Black wires on the rear of the ignition switch.........

You need to connect that wire to a switched 12V wire, not necessarily at the ignition switch.
If you're mounting the gauges under the radio, you can tap into the radio's switched ignition (green with white stripe on an 89 951). All you need is a test light or DVM.

I got a maze of wires for the radio, plus the gauge is mounted on the pillar pod (don't mind running longer wires though).
