News item 4/1/05 10:27 A.M.:
Porsche AG announced today that they are discontinuing production of all
rear- and mid-engine cars and will re-introduce the 944 Turbo as their
only sports car line.
"We realize that we had it down perfect 15 years ago and have been on
the wrong path ever since", said a company spokesman.
The new 2006 944 Turbo line will be built to the model year 1990 specs
and will include both coupe and cabriolet models. A new feature will be
factory tuning for 25 psi of boost. Power is expected to be in the range
of 450 HP.
Special purchase plans will be made available to current owners of 1986
through 1990 944 Turbos. They will be able to trade their used one in on
a new one and get the original sticker price as trade in value.
In addition, each new 944 Turbo will come with a real, living,
full-grown clone of either Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt, according to the
owners preference.

Damn,
I am married so I can't take the Angelina option. Plus now that 944 Turbo is new for 2006 I think that just makes me want to keep my 88 Turbo S even more.
