Yeah I heard 1.5-2.0 times displacement for plenum volume. What is the calculation of peak torque rpm and runner length? When do I want peak torque ideally?

We will have hard data on whether or nor Skunk is correct in a few weeks.
The data will be on ONLY this.

Fact, not fiction.

well, if 1000-1500 EUR isn't that expensive to you, you can buy me one

I suspect runner diameter dyno testing,in various configurations..??

9M started the development work on a ITB for the 968, check out the following thread, rather long but informative.

I'm not sure 9M made a working prototype, but considerable development has been done.

Regards,
Chris

Ok I found a runner / resonance / harmonics site... looks like the runners need to be around 18-19 inches.

i am the 0.5th to know ...have done loads of testing, just haven't got it to the dyno. What primary goals do you have? Broad range or high peak hp? ....or... both...? The specs I said was for a stock 951,you'll need something different if it's on a tuned one...

What runner length do you suggest and what plenum volume? 5 litres?

You suggest a rectangle plenum for resonance?

How did you arrive at 5 litres for the plenum NZ ?
Take note the the requirements for multiple TB's
are slighlty different from running a single TB.
A large plenum is required for single TB wherelse
multiple TB's can use smaller plenum.

Much literature states that the plenum volume should be 1-2 times the displacement.

1-2 times, that's why I mentioned a least 2-3 litres.
Look at the stock manifold, it does not look like it's
got 3 litres in the plenum. In any case, the sensable
figure should be 2-5 but 5 would mean huge right ?
The SR plenum is very well designed. You can follow
the shape & just adjust the volume.

I just bought and read Cork Bells book. He suggests a plenum size of 50-70% of displacement... hmmm thats against most everything else I have read. I have a great idea on runner design now but a couple of things still remain...

1. What lengths should the runners be for peak torque at 4000-4500rpm

2. What plenum volume

3. Is 43mm big enough for the TB's

4. Where should the TB's be mounted

I thought I've given you some ideas NZ.
Actually the SR plenum is a good size.
Should have no problem using it.
