Any new sources for alternator cooling hose? Have been looking w/o success
I've been looking for something to replace my MIA alternator cooling hose for a couple of months now with limited success. It seems nigh on impossible to find the mighty-flow hose that people have mentioned in the past at an autoparts store anymore. I actually bought one from Empi that was supposed to be 60mm in diameter, but the sucker didn't quite fit when I went to install it this weekend. Does anyone have a link to an online source for this hose or a suitable substitute for it that they know works? I feel like I've spent hours trying to find a workable replacement. It's driving me crazy!!

Paragon Products can get the OEM hose, it's expensive.
I picked up a foil hose at the auto parts store it fit on the connection at the bumper but not at the alternator, the alternator connection seems to be a little
bigger for some reason.

Guys,
I bought some hose from McMaster Carr a couple of years ago. It was a wire reinforced ruber coated product. I will try to find the info on it and post back in the next couple of days.

Mine looks like it was shot out of a cannon during the civil war era - but I managed to get it clamped on properly on both ends! Whoo hoo!!! Most of 'em are just kind of "stuck" on there or hanging loosely from what I've seen.
FWIW I bet the right diameter metal flex duct from Home Depot would work - and probably better.

You can buy some aluminized flex hose. I did this 10 years ago and it still looks great. It is all metal, I think I got it at an auto parts store. The factory part is crap....

The easiest fix is the plastic duct hose to the side dash vent of the early (70's) VW Golf. Simply cut to length and push in. Very flexible, the right size and durable. Mine's been fitted for 4 years now.
