Guys, there are LOTS of MAF used... Which car comes to market with over 400hp? Not the 968, not the M3.. The problem is not finding a MAF, the problem is finding a MAF that is suited for the 951... And I'm not talking about a bone stock 951, I'm more concerned about the modified ones with larger turbos...

Some other company will probably buy them out and continue to sell them under the same name. It happens all the time.

a 993 Maf? I know some opt to go that route with turbocharged e36s... www.activeautowerke.com in particular. I dont know what custom work, if any they do to make the 993 HFM work..but apparently it does.

I doubt this is feasible, and probably thought through already, but 996 TT's, GT-3's and GT-2's come with that kind of power. I think the price on the MAF would be FAR to much for this, and those sensors break a lot on 996's and boxsters. If one of those can be recreated for far cheaper, is it feasible? I don't know if porsche still uses 0-5v for the systems.

Correct! It's a legal/finacial matter why the bank took over., It's clear who will own the assets. However, there is nothing in the near future (4-8 weeks out).

The Eagle Talon / Moparbishi Eclipse (DSM) crowd has a Karman Vortex 0-5v air meter from the factory. The real limitation is the lack of upper-end airflow for bigger turbos and that after a certain point the air meter just stops reading any more air (same problem we have). There's a very defined 'ceiling' of airflow.

To get around this, they upgrade to a General Motors 3.0" hotwire MAF (off an Impala) or a 3.5" hotwire MAF (off the C5 Corvette I believe). These MAF sensors can be had for under $100. To properly convert between the sensor types, they use THIS "TRANSLATOR". Recently it's been discovered that the GM 3" MAF is honestly all that's required up to and past 600awhp, so hardly anyone uses the 3.5" MAF.

This sort of thing can easily be done for a 951. All that's required is a guinea pig 951 and someone with electrical know-how. I have both but I'm missing the third ingredient: spare time.
