Ok, just got off the phone with Mahle.

They are attempting to put this together with one of their customers(have no idea who and knew if I asked it wouldn't happen anyway) here in the US, who is interested after seeing the interest generated here, for a run of 80 sets, 100.5 and 101mm pistons. However, they still have lots of details to work out: market, cast vs forged, feroprint process, etc; so nothing in stone but it is certianly getting some attention.

Bret,

I probably know the answer to this but gotta ask anyway... what about timing? Think we might have a chance of seeing 'em before the end of this season if it happens?

I really don't know. He did say the "customer" was VERY interested in making it happen and committed to 80 sets for the run. You know the old saying, money talks and bull$hit walks.

Wouldn't it have to come through Andial?

no, I asked about them and one other that I suspected...it could have been a supply house of German wholesale parts. Andial is connected well but in the end they are still a tuner, along with TRG, Powerhaus, Lindsey, or it could have been EBS or some other big engine part supplier. If it goes through we'll know soon enough.

cast vs forged
If this were to go down, I would buy a set just to put on the shelf. Fortunately I do not need them yet.

But PLEASE....no cast pistons! Forged or forget it!

Hey Bret
Is there any shot they would consider making the same pistions that Andial sells (not oversized )
for the stroker kit ?
And of course at a earthly price unlike Andial :-)
Regards
Ed
