according to the book, yes, both were offered. That's what I meant when I stated that the person I talked to had both drawings in the book on his desk.

email sent...

Christian,

Here is just the support over the weekend and only from 1 forum. Price seems to be the main concern for all parties. I KNOW, almost 100%, that the response would be the same on the 968 and 928 forums for their perspective pistons (oversize) as well. I hope it peaks your interest and those above you at Mahle.

Regards
Bret

Ski, My comment about only the 100.5 being available came from using PET to see what oversize pistons were offered. My version of PET only shows the 100.5.
Let's hope Mahle comes through with a set or two that can be used in our blocks. I guess I read something wrong about the silicon matrix only being so deep as no one else remembers reading it.

Sorry Bret- missed your input on the 101's.... I was just asking b/c several other's had pointed it out...

Dan- I swear I think my PET shows both, but, will have to look soon- I can't load it on my regular comp b/c I'm running XP- I'm wanting to get 2000 loaded on here too so I can run either one when I want, but, until then, I have an old POS laptop I can occasionally use to bring PET up.... PITFA, but hey....

Bret- are you just outside of Nashville or something? I'm just curious b/c of your sig? what suspension mods have you done? IF you are in Nashville, I'd love to get together one day & check out your car- I'm debating over all kinds of things for mine... having all kinds of probs too...

Condo in Germantown(Memphis), home in Heber Springs just off the lake.
968 bars w/delrin bushings, Firehawk struts, 250# and Bilstien sport shocks on the rear, full coil over kit is coming this fall/winter when I install the new engine, disassemble the car and full repaint.

Robby did you buy a car in Springdale AR?

OHHHHHH..... THAAAAAT Germantown...... I was thinking of the mythical NASHVILLE-Germantown..... Anyway..... I think I need to get a little Atlanta-meet together to try a few dif cars.... What are Bilstein "Sports"? Also, how do you think the Bilsteins FEEL on the street? Do they feel comfortable w/those springs or do you think you needed slightly stiffer springs, or, do you think koni DBL adj might be more comfortable? Any suggestions would be appreciated- I was planning on Firehawks all around- was told I needed more in the 275 - 300 range- Cervelli had always said 250 was a minimum for those. How are the delrin bushings? Do they squeek or anything? Did they make the ride any rougher? Not sure how they would, but.....

Sorry for the tangent- YES- I AM intersted in the 101's... I'm planning a rebuild soon- would those 101's work w/968 crank for 2.8L stroker? I'm really hoping to get by w/out any boring work at all- I HATE the idea of having my block machined, but, if I go any larger, I will go straight to 101's, assuming the alusil coating is all the way down into the full 1mm....??? THAT scares me a little too.... of crouse, if it's a full .5mm, then, that should be alright- .5mm all the way around would be 1mm worth of diameter, right...? I need more $$$.....

No, I bought my car in Norfolk- October 13 1999....
